Networking Tips + Conversation Starters
TIP #1: Relax, Have Fun, & Connect

Focus on making a connection. See conversation starters below:

  • What do you do? Where are you from?
  • How did you come to be in your line of work?
  • What has surprised you the most about your job?
  • What was your favorite thing about Massey? Favorite Class?
  • How does your current position relate to your college major?
  • Any tips for someone just getting started in their career?
  • What advice do you have for someone who wants to work in your industry?

TIP #2: Make Connections Outside Your Concentration

Don’t just connect with individuals with your same degree concentration. Connections from all career fields and backgrounds can provide helpful advice and may be willing to make introduction for you in your industry.

TIP #3: Follow Up

When you have an awesome conversation with someone, ask how you can continue the conversation. Follow up or ask if they’re willing to connect on Linked-In.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2024 Massey Mixer!
