Athletics Communications Intern – Fall

Belmont University Athletics, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and NCAA Division I, invites applicants for the position of Athletic Communications Intern. This is an appointment that can be for summer, a single semester, or a full academic year. The position will be for class credit within Belmont University academic programs.

The Athletic Communications Intern will assist the athletic media relations’ team and work exclusively with Belmont’s nationally-regarded athletic teams on content creation, social strategy and brand management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       In collaboration with the Associate Athletic Director for Broadcasting & Media Relations, Director of Athletic Communications and athletic department staff, this position will perform tasks such as website updates, graphic design, content creation, writing recaps and releases, plus other designated tasks.

  •       Attend events and team functions and create compelling content which engages fans and prospective recruits
  •          Participate in weekly social content and strategic planning meetings with media relations, marketing and fan engagement
  •          Complete assigned tasks specific to record keeping and archiving of athletic department assets

Qualifications:

  •       Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with portfolio of work samples
  •       Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office; HTML experience not required
  •       Photography and videography experience preferred
  •       Experience in social media management
  •          Ability to produce quality, on-brand work in a fast-paced environment
  •          Ability to work non-traditional schedule, including nights and weekends
  •          Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal communication skills
