Jeremy Fyke Leader Development, LLC, has two core operations: leader development
and consulting. Leaders are trained in multiple industries in a variety of core
communication skills (e.g., presentations, feedback, conflict management, personality-
based leadership, motivation, change management). Second, JFLD has a consulting
practice where clients engage in a range of including strategic planning (e.g.,
mission, vision, values), auditing, and training program infrastructure. Clients are
diverse, and include nonprofits/religious organizations, retail corporations, and
transportation, among others.
This is an unpaid, for-credit (1-3 hours) internship that will offer first-hand experience in
the communication training and consulting field. The position is for the spring, 2020
semester. The student will work one-on-one with Dr. Fyke throughout the internship,
and will thus play a key role in shaping the internship position. **One area of special
emphasis for this internship is creating engaging content for Web and social media, and
although such skills are not required, applicants with design skills are especially
encouraged to apply.
The Leadership Training and Consulting intern will:
Conduct research on training topics as assigned
Create various materials for use in training sessions (e.g., case studies,
interactive activities)
Attend training sessions as available to assist and observe
Research best practices in the training and development and consulting fields
Assist in survey creation for needs assessments and/or organizational audits
Help strategize Web and social media content and tactics—e.g., creating
graphics.
