Employer Relations Intern

Position Title: Office of Career & Professional Development – Employer Relations Intern

Hours per week: 7 to 10

Reports to: Recruitment Coordinator, Office of Career & Professional Development

Position Purpose: The Employer Relations Intern will assist with employer relations within the Office of Career & Professional Development.

  • Strong organization, technical and analytical skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Interest in Human Resources or Public Relations preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be team-oriented, have strong written, oral communication and have excellent interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Must be patient, flexible, attentive to detail, and able to organize and handle multi-tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and accept individual responsibility for projects or assignments
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work in a comfortable and safe environment.

Job Functions:

  • Act as liaison to employers recruiting on campus (Recruitment Tables)
  • Work with Social Media Intern to promote events/jobs and spotlight employers
  • Promote on-campus recruiting opportunities and OCPD services to students
  • Collaborate with Students Assistants to recruit students to utilize Career Services Management system- Handshake
  • Maintain Employer Database, create statistical reports and compile analytic data for Career Services Management system- Handshake
  • Promote and assist with marketing strategy for Career Services Management system- Handshake
  • Research, review and approve job postings within Career Services Management system- Handshake
  • Represent Career & Professional Development at events and provide general administrative support (answering phones and greeting office visitors) as needed
  • Perform additional duties as needed in providing quality customer service to students/alumni, employers and Belmont community.
