Tower Creative Communications

Tower Creative Communications is the nationally affiliated, student-run public relations agency at Belmont University. The agency was established in 2006 as a professional development initiative of Belmont’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Tower Creative gives emerging professionals the opportunity to sharpen their skills by working alongside real clients to research, plan, implement and evaluate solutions to actual communication needs.

Our Associates

All of our associates are Belmont students, and most are studying public relations. However, Tower Creative welcomes a diverse group of students with knowledge and skills from a variety of areas, including business, audio/video production, photography, graphic design, web design and writing.

Becoming an Associate

Recruitment and orientation of associates happen at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Associates are asked to commit to at least one semester when they join the agency. Most, however, remain involved for several semesters. The specific time commitment varies, but associates should expect to invest at least five (5) hours per week working on projects related to Tower Creative, including weekly agency meetings.

The agency meets regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 3-4 p.m. in the Digital PR Lab (JAAC 1038).

Associates are not paid for their work, but they may earn academic credit by registering for PRL 2010. An associate may earn one (1) academic credit each semester they work with Tower Creative up to a total of four (4) credits, which may be applied to their elective requirements. Students should check with their academic advisors if they have any questions about how the practicum credit can be applied toward their major and/or minor requirements.

Our Clients

Tower Creative Communications serves on- and off-campus clients depending on the skills of our associates, which vary from term to term. Clients are determined by the student directors in collaboration with the faculty adviser.
