About

The Department of Public Relations prepares aspiring professionals to engage and transform the world through strategic, integrative communication management on behalf of all kinds of organizations and causes. Our coursework equips students with an essential understanding of the principles, practices and power of public relations while facilitating opportunities for emerging professionals to develop the practical skills they need to succeed in today’s dynamic and competitive marketplace. While earning either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations, our students can take advantage of countless opportunities to grow in the classroom, in the lab, in the community and beyond.

Opportunities Abound

Students’ opportunities to grow professionally happen in classes taught by highly qualified professors who bring diverse professional experience to the classrooms. In addition to the comprehensive curricular options, students can get involved in department-sponsored co-curricular opportunities including Belmont’s nationally-recognized and award-winning chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and student-run form, Tower Creative Communications.
