Better Lives/Sanitation and Water Action Comm Intern

Better Lives collaborates with a network of local partners across the world. Together, we assist families to become food and income self-reliant so that their children can grow up healthy, educated and able to earn an income.

This is a part-time internship working with Better Lives and initially one of Better Lives’ in country partners called Sanitation and Water Action Tanzania (SAWA).

The purpose of this role is to assist Better Lives and SAWA to:

  • Improve the quality and consistency of reporting on their websites
  • Build awareness of the Better Lives network of local partners on social media
  • Propose and implement ideas to grow Better Lives’ online outreach to potential donors and investors

This role collaborates with Better Lives’ East Africa Coordinator and initially one of SAWA’s project managers in Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

BETTER LIVES

  • Receive, edit, and post reports submitted by Better Lives’ partners.
  • Coordinate Instagram and Facebook posts with reports posted on website.
  • Propose and implement ideas to make Better Lives’ online presence more enjoyable, easy, efficient and effective.
  • Where appropriate, train partners to maintain aspects of their web sites.

SAWA

  • Create an online template for SAWA to use to consistently share their work with donors and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with SAWA staff to update website with information from previously implemented projects
  • Receive written and photographic updates about on-going projects and update SAWA’s website accordingly
  • Review SAWA website for other improvement opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Comfortable without an office
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Interest in international development
