FW Publishing Marketing and Events Intern (Nashville Scene)

The FW Publishing Marketing department is seeking skilled interns who can participate in various stages of marketing campaigns, event planning and promotions. This internship is based in Nashville, TN. This can be for summer or fall.

It is important that all candidates be passionate, intellectually curious and eager. Anyone who is engaged, sharp, ready to learn and hard working is welcome aboard.

Ideal candidates will be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and will finish the internship having gained valuable hands-on experience in the media, social media, marketing and events industry.

Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and receive course credit through their institution. Days and hours per week are flexible and dependent on the event schedule.

Marketing Department Responsibilities Include:

  • Creation of email campaigns and online promotions
  • Social media copyrighting and analytics
  • Preparation, electronic distribution and/or physical delivery of marketing materials
  • Fulfillment of marketing campaigns and promotions
  • On-site execution of FW Publishing events (some nights and weekends required)
  • Analysis of marketing and sales data/metrics
  • Analysis of competitor marketing materials
  • Copywriting for print ads, digital ads, social media and other marketing platforms
  • Prepare presentations, advertising copy/creative promotional spots

Requirements:

Nashville Scene is looking for undergraduate students in the middle-Tennessee area who are majoring in English, journalism, communications, marketing, sales, public relations or advertising.

This is an unpaid internship for college course credit only.

Qualified candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a desire to write, social media experience (personal use is acceptable) and strong organizational skills with an eye for detail. Knowledge of and desire to learn event planning, and proficiency in computer skills is essential.
