Administrative / Event Planning Internship (Part Time or Full Time –Fall 2019)

About T.J. Martell Foundation:
The T.J. Martell Foundation, founded in 1975 by the music industry, is a national nonprofit organization that funds cutting-edge research for cancer at top research hospitals in the United States. Ideal Candidate:
Must be organized, hard-working and enjoy a fast-paced small office setting
Must have effective communication skills, social skills and be proactive
Must be able to take direction, complete tasks and enjoy being creative
Must remain professional around artists or music business executives which make up most of our Board members.
Must have the availability to help with events after traditional office hours (See calendar of events)
Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events
Assist with creating promotional materials for both events and meetings
Must be proficient with Power Point, Word, Excel, and Publisher
Experience with Canva and/or other graphic editing software
Assist with event day execution
Assist with managing volunteers on event days
Assist with general admin tasks and office organization
Complete special projects as assigned
Assist with maintaining our mailing lists
Keep minutes from meetings with various venues and planning committees

Internship Expectations – at the end of this internship, the student will:
• Have had the opportunity to meet top level music industry executives
• Have been exposed to multiple different professions of the music business such as
management, publishing, record companies, booking agencies, concert promoters, talent
buyers, publicists, artists etc.
• Have had experience in handling themselves in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
• Have had experience learning to communicate effectively with top music industry executives
who fund our mission
• Have had the opportunity to contribute their time to help raise money to fund research for
cures for cancer
