Nashville Mayoral Candidate – Public Advocacy Intern (Paid)

Nashville Mayoral candidate is seeking highly motivated, proactive Public Advocacy interns to join our political campaign team. Qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong and positive work ethic, attention to detail, be responsive and punctual, and have solid communication, writing, graphics, and editing skills as needed. Preferred applicants are diligent, communicative, creative, and willing to perform and follow through on a wide variety of tasks.

These paid internships are for the spring semester from January to May of 2023. Each position is 10-15 hours per week, will be a hybrid combination of virtual and in-person work, and there will be availability to continue fulltime campaign work through summer.

Each position pays $20.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

Interns may assist the campaign with a variety the following responsibilities: 

  • Communications – Editing and drafting press releases, short newsletters, press clipping compilation, and other written materials as needed
  • Assist with Social Media strategy creation, drafting daily social media posts and ideas for Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook and other social media
  • Creating graphics for social media, knowledge of Photoshop or Canva preferred
  • Campaign fundraising, event and volunteer coordination
  • Campaign Field Canvassing efforts
  • Assistant to the Candidate during events and public appearances
  • Other duties as needed to support campaign management
