The Local Palate magazine seeks an intern to work virtually with the editorial department for the spring 2021 semester. Their office is in Charleston, but the editor in chief, Erin Byers Murray, lives here in Nashville and specifically reached out to our department.
Editorial interns assist with various projects, including researching and fact checking, and will have the opportunity to learn about the overall magazine publishing process. Interns should have top-notch research, communication, and writing skills, as well as a strong knowledge of grammar and punctuation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. Our ideal intern has journalism experience and is passionate about the South and its food culture. The intern will be expected to work remotely 12 to 15 hours per week. Note: This is an unpaid position so we ask that students receive school credits for the internship and will assist in providing anything needed for those requirements.
To apply, please submit your resume and two writing samples to Associate Editor Lia Grabowski at lia@thelocalpalate.com.
