The Nashville Edit is looking for motivated, organized interns to join our team. This is an unpaid internship for academic credit only and candidates must commit 10-20 hours per week. The internships are as followed:
Marketing Internship
The Marketing Internship will provide experience in events, social media, ad sales, and distribution. Intern will work closely with both marketing and sales on digital and experiential brand partnerships. Intern will help to draft copy, help manage scheduled posts, and track progress on social media. Intern will be responsible for providing support in the planning and execution of all events.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Events Director with the logistics and planning of signature events
- Assist with the management of event guest lists, RSVP lists and internal recaps
- Assist in source and organizing supplies for events
- Provide on-site support at events
- Support the sales team with preparing decks for prospective clients, collecting data and market research
- Help manage scheduled posts for daily content across all social media platforms
- General office tasks and operations
Requirements:
- Flexible, self-starting attitude
- Ability to balance multiple projects at once and to prioritize
- Excellent time management skills (works well on a deadline)
- Preferably marketing, communications or PR major, but not required
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.)
Graphic Design Internship
Our Graphic Design Internship gives design students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience behind-the-scenes of a fast-paced editorial publication. Interns will work closely with the Art Director to assist in the creation of content for use online and in print.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creation of materials for use in print and digital platforms (i.e. newsletters, ads, social media graphics, and layouts)
- Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline
- Prepare imagery for use on social media, print, digital, etc.
- Checking specs for ad submissions
- Assist in the creation of mood boards and photo treatments
Requirements:
- Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator
- Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, composition, and other design fundamentals
- Flexible, self-starting attitude
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects at once
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong creative and analytical skills
- Design Communications / Graphic Design major preferred but not required
- Skills in photography (preferred but not required)
- Portfolio submissions required for consideration
Photography Internship
Our Photography Internship gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience behind-the-scenes of a fast-paced editorial publication. Interns will work closely with the Art Director to assist in the creation of imagery for use online and in print.
Responsibilities:
- Create imagery for editorial, digital and social media uses
- Check specs of imagery for print submissions
- Assist in the creation of photo treatments
- Photograph events, products, people, etc. for digital and editorial use
Requirements:
- Proficient in Lightroom, Photoshop & Bridge
- Basic knowledge of composition, lighting, re-touching and other photography fundamentals
- Flexible, self-starting attitude
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects at once
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong creative and analytical skills
- Proficient in photography
- Portfolio submissions required for consideration
Editorial Internship
Our editorial internship gives students the opportunity to see how a multimedia publication works behind-the-scenes to create exclusive content for our online and print publication. Interns will work closely with the Managing Editor to gain hands-on experience in managing contributors, deadlines, content creation and more.
Responsibilities:
- Help to create content for both online and print (articles + imagery)
- Assist Managing Editor with embedding links into articles, affiliate linking, and SEO
- Copywriting, copyediting
- Assist Managing Editor with behind-the-scenes planning + execution of those plans
Requirements:
- Self-starting with a willingness to learn
- Incredible attention to detail
- Outstanding organization skills
- Passion for writing/reading
- Passion for refined content in the categories of local culture, people, wellness, style, living and entertaining
- Knowledge of luxury publications (Vogue, Porter, Dujour)
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects at once
- Portfolio submission required for submissions (writing examples)
