INTERNSHIP INFORMATION
SOCKs Health Communications Intern
Paid internship $10-12/hour (depending on experience and background) 10 hours a week
JOB SUMMARY
Develop and maintain website and social media content, write and edit blogs, develop electronic
mailers, and develop materials for pediatric subspecialties to share with families and community
members. This is a highly visible internship that will allow you to work with leaders across
Monroe Carell Junior Children’s Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare educational material/pamphlets for distribution
• Write and edit blog posts regarding medical topics
• Write and edit researcher spotlight posts for website and social media
• Create and distribute Community Advisory Board monthly newsletter
• Maintain website & social media presence for the Surgical Outcomes Center for Kids
(SOCKs)
• Work with leadership and physician scientists to identify scientific content and physician interest
stories for all methods of media dissemination
• Must be able to work in a high paced, deadline driven team environment
• Must be self-directed
• Must have previous writing experience (sample provided upon request)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Full- or Part-time upper level Undergraduate or Graduate level Communications

Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery, and Biostatistics
