Position: Legislative and Operations Coordinator

Clifton Government Relations (CGR) is a small lobbying firm located in Nashville, TN. We focus on state-level monitoring, lobbying, and advocacy training for a variety of non-profit clients that serve the public good. For more information on our clients, visit the Clients section of our website.
CGR is looking for a part-time Legislative and Operations Coordinator. Legislative work is cyclical, so weekly hours may fluctuate, but we anticipate the position will average 25 hours per week. The position requires a high degree of initiative, the ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, experience with social media, and experience with or willingness to learn legislative tracking software. The Legislative and Operations Coordinator reports directly to the firm principal and may work with the boards and representatives of client organizations.
Critical Roles include:
- Monitoring legislative committees on behalf of clients.
- Crafting weekly legislative reports throughout the legislative session.
- Facilitating and managing intern work.
- Enhancing website and social media presence of firm.
- Facilitating technology best practices.
- Representing firm at certain client events.
- Giving advocacy training to clients.
- Responding to client questions regarding legislative process and strategy.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
- Interest in the legislative and political process.
- Interest in public policy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to speak in public.
- Detail oriented – able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technology problems.
- Ability to work independently.
