This past weekend, Belmont’s Forensic Team participated in the Jackson Purchase Swing, a two-day tournament held at Murray State University in Kentucky. The annual competition led to an impressive win for Belmont, with numerous students racking up recognition on both days.
Awards Day 1 at Murray State University:
Individual Events Sweeps: 1st in small team
Debate Sweeps: 5th in team sweeps
Janvi Shukla: 3rd in Radio Broadcasting and 3rd in Impromptu
Emily Vo: 4th in Novice Program of Oral Interpretation, 9th in novice IPDA (debate)
Megan Burchfield: 1st in Novice Program of Oral Interpretation, 2nd in Novice Prose, 5th in Novice After Dinner Speaking
Alexander Baynum: 2nd in Novice Extemporaneous Speaking, 7th in Novice Informative, 4th in Novice Impromptu, and 3rd in Novice Communication Analysis
Grace Freidman: 3nd in Novice Parliamentary debate, semi-finalist in Novice NPDA (debate), 2nd in Novice Radio Broadcasting
