Belmont in Paris: Writing, Fashion and Communication

June 1,  2018 – June 18, 2018
In the 1920s, F. Scott Fitzgerald described Paris as a place of “excess, endless parties, and lurid decadence.” The city of Paris has always been a place rich with literature, history, fashion, food, and relationships, but maybe especially so for the expat writers of the 1920s like Fitzgerald and Hemingway. On this trip, we will have the opportunity to explore the amazing city of Paris through the eyes of famous expats and embark on day trips to other cultural sites like the coastal towns of Normandy and the palace of Versailles. We will familiarize ourselves with the rich and beautiful heritage of these places, as well as examine the impact of politics and history on writing, fashion, and communication. Join us for an adventure full of rich and diverse culture, vibrant scholarly experiences, and fantastic summer fun.
