Belmont University’s Simulation Program recently received full accreditation in the Teaching/Education Area from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH) and the Council for Accreditation of Healthcare Simulation Programs. The status was granted for a five year period and is valid through December 2022.
Belmont University was presented with The Benefactor Award, from the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association, at a ceremony held at the Metro Parks Office today, December 5. The University’s recognition was given in honor of its work with Nashville’s parks system, sports and athletics, including its contributions to E.S. Rose Park Community Center and Sports Complex.
James Matthews, a graduate music student at Belmont, was recently featured in a NewsChannel5 interview where he discussed his recent trip to Carnegie Hall for Christmas. After winning the American Fine Arts Festival piano competition, Matthews earned the opportunity to travel to New York and play a solo recital at the esteemed venue.

The Tennessee Health Care Hall of Fame inducted six health care legends from across the state at a luncheon and ceremony held in Belmont University’s Curb Event Center on Tuesday, October 17. Hosted by Senior Counsel at Finn Partners John Seigenthaler, the Hall of Fame’s Ceremony recognizes and honors the pioneers and current leaders who have formed Tennessee’s health and health care community and encourage future generations of health care professionals.
Belmont University’s Milton and Denice Johnson Center was recently celebrated at the 2017 IMPACT Tennessee: Build Green, Be Well conference, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Tennessee’s first statewide conference. The Johnson Center received the Innovative Design, New Construction award for its use of new technologies and strategies that surpass expectations of a green design and meet project challenges with innovation.

Ten months after breaking ground, Belmont University contractors recently lifted the north gable in place on a new residence, “Tall Hall,” that sits between 12 South and 15th Avenue. The topped-out structure’s top floor, based on overall elevation, represents one of the highest points in Nashville, offering tremendous birds-eye views of downtown.
Belmont University’s Welcome Home Diversity Council recently launched its campus-wide diversity and inclusion initiative, The Belmont State of Mind. Centered around transparency, authenticity, intentionality and awareness, the Belmont State of Mind is focused on enhancing and embedding a culture of inclusive excellence across campus for all faculty, staff and students. The new initative houses all of campus’s diversity and inclusion efforts.
